Juro Solar Kits
In 2023, the Yambone Project received 120 Juro Solar Kits from @Jurotrading to provide much-needed electricity to the communities of Chipanje Chetu, focusing on vulnerable residents, especially women. Each kit includes a solar panel, battery, fan, lights, charging ports, and an FM radio, significantly enhancing the quality of life for recipients. Inspired by heartwarming stories like that of Mama Daima Ali, who now dances to music from her solar-powered radio, Yambone aims to purchase an additional 150 kits for distribution in 2024, continuing its commitment to community conservation in northern Mozambique.
Community-Conservation
Chipanje Chetu is a pristine habitat that offers an ideal environment for thriving elephant populations. Once ravaged by heavy poaching, this breathtaking landscape now represents hope for both elephants and local communities. Through the transformative technique of elephant collaring, in collaboration with the Mozambique Wildlife Alliance, Yambone is utilising GPS-enabled collars to track these gentle giants and collect vital data for their protection. This innovative approach not only aids in understanding migration patterns and identifying key habitats but also empowers Yambone to effectively mitigate human-wildlife conflict. By combining scientific research with community engagement, this initiative fosters a future where elephants and humans coexist harmoniously.

Etymology
The word "safari" comes from the Swahili language, where it means "journey" or "expedition." Swahili, in turn, borrowed the term from the Arabic word سَفَر (safar), which means "to travel" or "journey."
The word photography originates from the Greek phōs for light and graphē for drawing, coming together to mean "painting with light." It captures the essence of the craft—a delicate dance of light and shadow, where moments are etched into memory through the art of illumination.
Eco-Burial Consultation
Death is a life event we often overlook until grief comes to our door. In these difficult times, it can be hard to make thoughtful choices.
I work with individuals and organizations to create meaningful ways of laying loved ones to rest that honor both people and the environment. Whether you're planning your own funeral, a loved one’s, or looking to establish an eco-friendly or conservation burial site, I’m here to guide and support you through the process. Reach out, and let's walk this path together.
Follow my work on Rosurrection.
Ethnobotany
From Greek ethnos (people) and botanē (plants).
Ethnobotany is the study of how different cultures use plants for various purposes, including medicine, food, rituals, and everyday life. It combines elements of botany, anthropology, and ecology to explore the relationships between people and plants.
Ethnobotanists often research traditional knowledge and practices related to plants, documenting local uses and cultural significance, which can be vital for conservation efforts and sustainable development. This field plays a crucial role in understanding biodiversity and preserving indigenous knowledge about plant species and their uses.
